Studio session with Chris.

In my the most recent session with Chris, we spent the session in the studios, practicing and shooting different set ups we wanted to practice for final beauty editorial and advisement images. I found the session fun and relaxed and it made my ideas clearer for me. I took the chance to look at Chris's Mac imagery book, the book was full of beautiful inspiring beauty images and it really inspired me when thinking about poses for my model and making beauty photography more creative. I had brought a book with me to the session called 'Faces of Vogue' this book is a beautiful photography book full of portraits and fashion style images of iconic models who have modelled for Vogue. I found the book inspiring to some extent but felt that it wasn't as inspiring as the Mac book which focused more on beauty imagery.

I worked with my classmates in a group of 4 and began practicing some beauty images with a three light set up. I had used the same set up the week before and found the set up created really clear, soft lit images, perfect for beauty photography. Using the same set up we prepared the studio placing two lights behind our model and one in front, we chose and adjusted the lighting and used some beauty dishes and a reflector also. I think this lighting set up is the lighting I may use for my final image, although I do plan to experiment with one other type of lighting before seriously planning my shots, I have a booked a studio for next Tuesday and plan to put a lot of my ideas to practice.

Me and my group managed to create some really beautiful images that day and they were very similar to the beauty photography themes featured in the Mac book. We all took turns to direct, style and capture images which was helpful as we all worked well when improving the images.
