Macabre photography.

Whilst collecting imagery from Pinterest for my mood board, I discovered 'Macabre photography'. I'm not too sure if Macabre Photography is a genuine style of photography as when I did further research on this art form, not very much came up apart from work from Independent artists. Something I enjoy about this style of photography is, the continuous dark, morbid theme throughout the Macabre imagery. In regards of looking for inspiration for my word this style of photography has influenced me a lot and is involved a lot in the colouring of face charts I have been creating recently.

Because of this I feel that many people have associated the word Macabre using it is a adjective to describe the style of photography that holds a dark dull theme. I did initially want to explore this style of photography, recreating and shooting creepy poses, creating a dark theme and then making it even more macabre with the use of photoshop. But as we are now taking beauty portrait shots that idea has now changed and developed into creating a beautiful lighting set up making the face and makeup light up but also making the macabre make-up intense and dominant in the photographs.

What I like about this image (above).
- I find the angle/position of the model in this image interesting, the models expression makes her appear peaceful and intimidating at the same time
-The make-up in this image is very creepy and is applied very well, the application is even and neat under camera and also fits in well with the macabre theme -The background in this image has a distinct greyish/white tint which also intensifies the Macabre theme of the photograph -The use of continuous white colour, on the models face, clothing, hair and the background makes the photograph appear even more creepy and contrasts well with the lighting used making the model appear isolated and almost supernatural

What i like about the image (Above).
- The contrasting black hair and demonic eyes stand out straight away in this photograph and instantly make you feel that this model or thing in the image is disturbing and not human
-The lighting in this photograph is very dark and appears to have a grey/dark theme to the photograph only lighting it bright enough for the models skin to look pale, but the lighting of the skin, background and dark hair and eyes on the model all seem to merge into the same similar colour
-The angle of the photograph and the positioning of the model in this photograph is also very creepy and it makes the model appear as if she is staring into your should or trying to capture you
