I recently created some face charts in response to my word Macabre, I had shown my peer and previous partner Beccy my charts and she gave me some feedback on ways I could create the looks I want. I like asking for feedback on my ideas from peers and lecturers as it allows me to develop ideas or even think about ideas I may have over looked. In order to start practicing and actually executing my ideas, I asked Beccy if she would model for me outside of studio sessions so that I could experiment a little bit, being the amazing friend she is, she agreed and a practiced a eye look i had created.
The face chart I chose to practice, Is one I considered my favourite out of all the charts i had created so far, It was a dark burgundy themed eye look with matching dark lips a clean base and bold brows. Below are two images of the look I created on Beccy's eyes and also the original face chart. Honestly, I don't think that this practice was very good and I did not achieve the make-up look I had wanted to, although I learnt a lot from this practice and it was a very effective and beneficial way for me to test an idea and know wether to develop it further or change things up.
I found a few things difficult when I was creating this look, one was the eye shadow colours that I had in my kit. I ended up using some shadows from my own personal make-up kit alongside my professional make-up kit in order to create a slightly similar eye look to my face chart. None of my eyeshadows were the correct colour so that was one problem, then as I began to blend and merge the eye colours together they did not create a very flattering final colour. I feel the shaping and blending of the eyeshadow was successful but in regards to re creating my face chart Idea it did not work. Although, my practice wasn't successful I know now to use different colours next time and make sure to add colour as I go so that it doesn't over power the other colours. If I was to practice this look again I would also apply makeup to the whole face, this is something I will set myself to retry in the future.
