'Beauty Papers' and Fetish beauty (magazine)
William Wilson 500 Vintage characters
In todays digital Image lecture, Sharon recapped on our last lecture and began to discuss what are next steps are for our digital image project. Whilst explaining what we needed to do, Sharon began to hand out some magazines she had brought for us to analyse and find some sort of inspiration. I enjoyed reading these magazines and feel that they all had very inspiring and unique content which was relevant to make-up in all different forms.

Whilst we were reading these magazines, Sharon began to assign us with our chosen brands. I was given the brand 'No7', my initial reaction was mixture of disappointment, confusion and worry. My reason for feeling like this was because I felt that my brand was completely different to my peers, they had all been assigned to create ads for prestigious brands that sell a certain lifestyle and product, where as mine was very 'drugstore' and plain in comparison. Nevertheless, I did not want to feel too disheartened or too worries about my situation, so I am going to go ahead with my ideas I have thought of as they can still work with my given brand but I may just have to adapt my ideas a lot to my brand.
Some things I am worrying about in regards of my brand, is adapting my make-up look ideas, and the intensity of my look in order to translate and appeal more to the audience of my brand in my advertisement. Should I look for a older model instead of using my chosen model choice? Should I tone down the make-up in order to fit more into the audiences appeal and wants?
My next step in response today will be researching and analysing some 'No7' ads, looking at lighting techniques, posing and themes of the ads and then practicing my own versions in the photography studio next week.
